Landscapes can be the essence or the surrounding of your picture. At least its worth always having an open eye on nice landscape compositions. Especially when they come along with a nice mixture of lights&shadows as well as sparkling colours.

Dogs are known to be mans best friend but in fact I think that all animals are worth noticing. Their behaviour in their natural habitat tells us a lot about them but even more about ourselves and how we should interact with our environment. After all I am sure that animals are the better humans ...

Polar lights, scientifically named Aurora borealis are, to my mind, made for photographers. When the sun sets and all the light seems to be gone the sun sends solar winds to the magnetosphere of earth to create one of the most beautiful light phenomenons in nature. The Vikings used to interpret it as valkyries and virgins dancing in the sky.

Living in the city tells its own stories. And as well as landscape photography you find pictures worth taking in the big and the little stories. But of course life moves faster in cities and so your have to be quick not to miss the moment the story shows itself in pictures.

Although the world is full of beautiful colors they sometimes can distract you from the important aspects of a scene. So taking a black&white picture is sometimes the key to get to the mood of a scene and to the point of your composition.

Photography, for me, is always about looking at all details. Close up shots take this to the max and give the artist, as well as the viewer, the chance to blend out all unnecessary things. I should do this more often ;-)

Panoramic pictures are always impressing. While single pictures point to to one aspect, detail, ratio or whatever composition a panoramic shot aims to cover a whole scene. At the same time this strengt is also its weakness. If your on location big scenes seem to be always worth capturing. But at home on the screen they easily look flat and boring. So you have to be very patient and careful that you bind only those scenes to a panoramic picture which express and impress themselves at the same time. Here are my attempts.
